Sorry for the title -- my volleyball vocabulary is pretty limited.
Melissa is too modest to blog about her city league volleyball team's 2-0 start on the season. They're called "Six Pack" - which I'm sure refers to their teamwork, or their abs, or the fact they are smooth like some sort of alcoholic beverage. Anyway, the kids and I snapped some pictures of a recent match.

Why we won't be vacationing in Tampa this Winter
Story here.
I've previously mentioned one reason I'm a cat person. This story raises another reason -- cats generally don't throw feces.

New Year's Eve gathering
We convinced most of the Stoddard clan to celebrate the new year at our house a couple weeks ago. Tyler's report is here (with video!). Like Ty says, it was a lot of fun.
Next to Karsten's Wii Boxing clinic -- I enjoyed the epic 4-man Wii Tennis match Karst' and I had against Ty and Dad. It went all 5 sets and was quite emotional. [Note to Dad's grandkids: it's not OK to scream "What the crap!!" like Grandpa when our forehand smash goes wide.] Karsten and I were playing on our home court, and we pulled it out at the end. We're looking forward to the rematch.

Get Snuggie!
Since acquiring a Tivo, we tend to skip right past TV commercials. But sometimes, when we're a little slow to hit the 30 second skip button on the remote, we catch a glimpse of some of the cool stuff we should be spending our money on.
It's the blanket with sleeves! Yeah, yeah, some people will scoff "Why are you wearing your robe backwards?" or "When did you join a Satanic cult?" -- but when they must leave the swaddling warmth of their conventional fleecy blankie to retrieve the remote control or flip the page on Anne of Green Gables...they will covet your Snuggie. Or maybe, ya' know, just put on a sweatshirt.
You can wear a Snuggie to your children's sporting events for maximum adolescent embarrassment!
We were sorely tempted to get out our credit card and call their toll-free number. But the phone was several inches away -- and we feared we would get cold if we got out of our own warm fleecy blankie.
We definitely would have done it if ShamWow Vince told us to.
