Snapping out a rhythm (sort of)

Langdon has always demonstrated a preference for certain kinds of music.  As an infant, his cries were immediately calmed upon hearing Dee Snider of Twisted Sister shout "I wanna rock!" ().  Seriously.

The boy often sits on my lap as I read the news online and listen to music in the background.  While his siblings can't help but dance when they hear Eiffel 65 (), Lang' generally responds to the Italian techno group with a prolonged groan.  My old Depeche Mode songs from high school () elicit the same reaction.  Jack Johnson (), on the other hand, always seems to get a smile from him.

As he's gained more control over his little body, Lang's started to show off some dance moves when his favorite songs come on.  Initially, he would lay on his back and begin flopping his torso, legs, and arms wildly with a big grin on his face when he'd hear something like Gnarls Barkley ().  We named the style "cracklin' bacon" since it reminded us of our favorite breakfast meat frying in the pan.  He's since added some new moves like bobbing his head and working his shoulders -- all of which are quite amusing to observe.

Therein lies the problem.  His dance moves are about as difficult to capture on film as an image of Bigfoot in his natural habitat.  As soon as the camera comes out, Lang' ceases all gyration and assumes an attitude of quiet dignity.  This morning, however, the boy was moving to some Crowded House with his back to me. I was able to catch the tail end of his dance stylings on video.
